RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT
Innovation has characterised our business as of 2001 onwards. Over the years, we had to find solutions in order to make our company’s development possible.
During the pre-accession period in the UE, AS METAL prepared a number of case studies concerning the recycling of decommissioned vehicles and the WEEE, [studies] which were also submitted to the national environmental authorities. Studies and research have been performed since 2010 in order to have a number of new car industry alloy brands homologated.
AS METAL entered into several partnerships with the Polytechnic University in Bucharest and performed together a number of research projects and studies in the field of secondary metallurgy.
CASE STUDY ON CUTTING LOSSES BY OXIDATION IN SECONDARY ALLOYS
When processing the aluminium and aluminium alloys waste based on common techniques, about 50% of the aluminium may easily be lost, therefore traditional recovery techniques turn out to be inefficient.
REVIEW OF THE
This alloy is part of the 3xx series, according to ANSI (NADCA), and is highly used in gravitational casting applications but also in die casting, thanks to its excellent casting features and to its high resistance. This alloy is also known for its outstanding physical and mechanical features…
Over the past few years, the environmental protection problem has become ever more important, just like the production and energy cost reduction for the companies in the field of metallic scrap recycling or secondary aluminium alloys…
CASE STUDY ON DISMANTLING DECOMMISSIONED VEHICLES
The purpose of this study was to establish the average metal content, its share in the total mass of the weighted vehicle, the breakdown of the other components, such as tyres, large plastic parts, etc.
