Social sustainability

Romania’s accession to the European Union called for a review and harmonisation of the standards governing health and safety. A major effort had to be made in order to build the necessary infrastructure and buy the necessary materials, but also to change the mentality of the employees. Over the years, we had our specialised personnel trained and certified, so they have been able to successfully implement the necessary health and safety policies.

We co-operate closely with higher education institutions. Our company has a partnership with the Bucharest Polytechnic Institute, based on which students can do practical work in our company or can co-operate with us for their graduation papers, MA theses and doctoral studies. Some of the students who were involved in such partnerships are now working for AS METAL as premium employees.
We plan to enter into new partnerships with secondary schools (high schools and post-secondary institutions).
