Social Sustainability

Romania’s acceptance to the European Union required for revision and harmonisation of health and safety occupational standards. During the years, we trained and certified our personnel, so they have been able to implement the necessary health and safety policies.

Our company has a partnership with the Bucharest Polytechnic University, based on which students can do practical work in our company or cooperate with us for their graduation diploma, MA theses or on their doctoral degrees in the field of aluminium metallurgy. Some of those students that were involved in partnerships are now working in AS METAL as premium employees.

We plan to enter into new partnerships with high schools and post-high school.

Business sustainability

The large-scale aluminium production became possible stating with 1866 year. About 1,000,000,000 tons of aluminium have been produced ever since and over 75% of that amount is still being used in the construction works, transportation, packaging, motor vehicles, machines, etc.

Those products, which will reach their end of life cycle and will be recycled, provide a solid basis for the business sustainability of this activity for the two vectors represented by environment protection (de-pollution) and the raw materials that are needed by various industries.

The concept of circular economy relies on recycling. Our company’s involvement in developing know-how and the investment we have made in order to implement the EU directives governing the free movement of commodities, the cutting of the costs and our respect to the environment are also worth mentioning.
